Actress, writer, director and producer Carrie Drazek has worked on the stage and screen with actors William H. Macy in 'Bart Got A Room' (2007), and Val Kilmer, Patrick Muldoon, Armand Assante, and Eric Roberts in The Steam Experiment (2008),produced and directed by Philippe Martinez. Notable theatre roles were in the Harvey Fierstein play, On Tidy Endings in 2007, and the one-woman show Ann-Margret: In Between The Lines, written and performed by Ms. Drazek herself in 2010-2011. Directed by A- list celebrity acting guru, Susan Batson, the play was part of the biographical series, Slices of Live's. In 2012, Carrie completed writing the full-length feature film, Exposed and in 2013, Carrie began working on a shooting her short film, Tulips, which is being presented on the film festival circuit with Ms. Drazek as the creator and actress.
Graced by a family of great comedic actors, Carrie E. Drazek is the great niece of actor Eddie Hanley, from The Munsters and The Honeymooners, and distant cousin to the great actor George Tobias, best known for his role as Abner Kravitz on the beloved sitcom, Bewitched, the entertainment world was a natural choice for the talented Ms. Drazek.
Carrie’s acting roots began at the University of South Florida, where she majored in Theatre. In an exchange program at California State University, she joined an ensemble cast in an original production of Soiled Pamela. This experience sparked an interest in writing. After graduation, Carrie went on to act in a multitude of plays and various television productions including commercials and industrials. In 1993 she began to develop her own creative projects. In 1996 she completed writing the feature length screenplay, Edgewood. A romantic thriller about four friends that reunite ten years aftergraduating from college, this was Carrie’s first feature screenplay. In 2002, she produced a television pilot titled FACES Around The City. She then produced her short film, entitled Audition in 2006.
The following year was extremely productive year for Carrie, as she had just finished writing, producing and directing the short film, The Benevolent Stranger in 2007. Co-starring with actor Ray Bouchard, the short film is particularly significant to Carrie’s career as it captures a timeless message for its viewers. The film focuses on being open and honest when expressing one’s self in order to achieve inner peace. In July of 2009, Carrie proudly participated with LAByrinth Theater as they developed a new collaborative Intensive Ensemble Program to continue their development of new plays and inspire emerging artists. While there, Carrie enjoyed performing in a staged reading of a new musical called Stained, and also took part in collaborative writing and producing.
In November, 2015, Carrie directed the original stage play Money Maker written by award winning playwright Bill Leavengood. The play was a World Premiere at The Heather Theatre in Tampa, and was a huge success.
With a passion and hope to inspire and provoke thought through films and other works, Carrie founded Carrie Drazek Productions, with a mission to encourage positive growth and change in our communities and the world while entertaining at the same time. Carrie Drazek Productions has, to date, completed three short films: Tulips, The Deposition and Pharmacopia; all of which will be released in 2016.
2017 was an exciting year for Carrie as Producer and Actor in another One Woman Show: The Azure Sky In Oz, written by Bill Leavengood and Directed by Broadway Director Padraic Lillis. The show was performed at The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and sponsored by filmmaker and artist Tom Parnell. The play benefited The Philanthropic Women of St. Joseph's.
2018 to date, Carrie has been working on writing new projects, auditioning for current film and television and enjoying time on her farm in NC.
